Refining a historic identity at a century-old venue.

The Shrine is a historic venue within the Goldenvoice portfolio, known for its large-capacity auditorium and expo hall. Its Moroccan-inspired Moorish Revival architecture provided a rich visual foundation. The challenge was an incomplete brand identity that felt disconnected from its younger, college-aged audience.

Rather than a complete rebrand, we focused on strengthening the existing identity. We refined the logo, established a clearer visual hierarchy and color system, and developed distinct identities for the venue's key spaces. A flexible typography and design system drew inspiration from its architectural heritage.

The result was a cohesive, scalable identity that balanced the Shrine's history with a more contemporary, energetic feel.

I led the design direction and visual identity development as a player-coach, working closely with a team of designers from concept through execution.
